Good
Morning and Happy Friday!
This
week I started using the HAAPPi.Me® Planning with Insight™ tool. There is stuff to learn here! I am becoming more aware of how the
activities of my week support or don’t support life areas. Helpful to know!
What
I am also noticing is a reminder that we can know something in our heads,
understand it, and still find there is more to learn. So often we get a surface understanding and leave
it at that. It is like hearing a
description of chocolate, seeing a picture, remembering what chocolate tastes
like. That is nice, but, not the true
experience of having a piece of chocolate, smelling it, touching it, putting in your mouth, feeling the
texture, tasting the sweetness, the chocolate-ness of it. Having the intellectual experience isn’t the
same as having the real thing.
So
too with managing our lives; we want to
be happy, make good decisions, lessen stress, act in accordance with our
values, and it is easy to get sidetracked, stuck in habits, neglect things. Intellectually we can know what to do, and
still find that the experience of doing it falls short, misses something.
It
is worthwhile to commit time and attention and create the opportunity to
realize habits, routines that may be out of sync, to see what is on track and
what is not. That is what I am finding
as I work with this new tool.
How
do you manage this? How do you stay on
track? How do you determine what needs
attention? What works and what doesn’t
work?
More of this, less of that please,
Judy
