Good morning!

Today I’ve been thinking about natural gifts and talents. Early on we start to realize that we are better at some things than others. When considering a career we look to our talents: What are you good at? What do you like to do? What comes naturally to you? We want to take advantage of our strengths, develop our talents. Usually when we are using our gifts and talents we also experience a sense of satisfaction. So, as we mature, part of our work is to discover what those strengths, talents, gifts are and to find ways we can use them.

The message today is to reflect on your talents. Recognize and appreciate the talents you have. It is often easy to lose sight of what comes naturally, to take for granted what you can do – what you offer.

Think about distinguishing between what comes easily to you and what is difficult. Both areas offer opportunities for growth and learning. There is balance to be found in developing your talents and letting go of, judging, comparing, wanting to be what you are not. Not to say that there isn’t value in taking on challenges, trying new things. You may ask yourself: How can I do this in my style? What am I trying to grow here? What are my expectations?

Also consider that you can use those gifts and talents in many ways, in many settings. Be creative about bringing what you bring into different situations, with different people, about different issues.

Play to your strengths,

Judy
