Good Morning!

Sometimes I look back at previous messages for inspiration. This morning was one of those days. The following message resonated with me this morning, and I hope it has something to offer you too.

Somewhere along the way I came across a little message that has stayed with me:

Your mission in life is to be you.

That little message is such a good reminder that you are enough. There is nothing outside of you that you need to validate your worth. Your value comes from with-in and it is always there.

You are unique. No one else has what you have. You bring your own perspective, sensibility to the world. You have talents and gifts that are yours alone.

You can use your desires, and wishes as a guide for action. You can follow your intuition, your inner voice and do or not do accordingly.

The flow of your life is one of constant discovery and growth. There is always more to learn and value about you. As you deepen your self awareness and appreciation you expand your capacity to be thankful for others and make room for them to recognize and acknowledge you (not that you need it!).

Carry on,

Judy

Work!

Good Morning!

Today’s question is about work….how do you define work? What does work mean to you now and what do you see in the days ahead? Work can mean a lot of different things: a career… a profession….a way to make money…responsibility….a way to use talents…a way to make a contribution to the world. It can also bring us many things: structure…colleagues…goals….recognition….achievement…identity…stimulation…comraderie….challenge…stress….frustration.

How about thinking of work in terms of what there is for you to do in this stage of life? Each stage of life has a certain type of work for us to do, lessons to learn….as a student….establishing a career….establishing a life with family/friends/home….being part of a community. What is your focus right now? What is your work related to your family, to your community, to your personal growth?

What changes are on the horizon? Will you retire from some of this work, some of the roles you have taken on, the positions you have been holding? What changes fit the stage you are moving into? What foundations will support the work of your next stage? What is the work that will engage you as you move into your next stage?

Consider what you know about yourself, what you have learned so far. Notice the work you do now and what it gives you. What is there to keep, to let go, to expand? That is your assignment, your homework. Take note of what you find fulfilling now. Build awareness as you go through your day, your week. You can rate segments of your day on a scale of 1-10 in terms of your sense of fulfillment/satisfaction with that activity.

What do you notice, what do you learn?

Dear Creators,

Here are a couple thoughts to sit with this week: There is no security in stagnation. As long as we are alive we are either growing or we’re dying. This may seem a rather stark notion, but consider - being alive means we are constantly growing, changing, evolving.

Our choice becomes: What are we growing? Being conscious and aware allows us to realize the choices we can make about what we are growing. We can also appreciate what it means to grow and recognize what growth feels like, looks like - the process of growth. We know that growth is not always comfortable; it can feel very awkward, and clumsy. There is uncertainty and doubt, since the very nature of growth means we are trying something new, unfamiliar, out of our comfort zone.

When we see a baby learning to walk we accept the falling down, we celebrate the clumsiness because we recognize that this is a necessary part of the process of learning. We know this is essential for the eventual grace, ease of movement, running, dancing that is in this baby’s future.

And so with us, when we choose some area we want to grow, to expand, to develop (a new language, better fitness, more balance, leadership, compassion, money management, stronger relationships....) The decision becomes; What is it I want to grow? What are the conditions that will support me in this? How can I remember to stay with it even when it feels awkward, when I am not perfect?

If we don’t do this consciously, we do it by default, and so we may grow our discontent, our frustration.

What are you growing?

Judy

Iron rusts from disuse; water loses its purity from stagnation... even so does inaction sap the vigor of the mind. - Leonardo da Vinci

Stuck?

Dear Creators,

Today’s cloudy sky, chill in the air and prediction of another snow storm makes it seem as though we’re stuck in perpetual winter. Ish. Everyone I’ve talked to lately has had about enough of winter and is ready for something else….warmth, color, change, spring. While we know that spring is on the way - there are signs if we look….days are longer….it is March….birds are singing spring songs - it still feels like we are stuck. So, let’s think about being stuck. That sense of same old/same old, no/limited choice, dullness, blah, blah, blah….

Where do you feel stuck? While establishing some patterns can serve us, there are also times when it is good to shake things up; do things differently; think differently; choose something else; try a new perspective!

In the book, Ask and It Is Given Esther & Jerry Hicks have this to say about being stuck:

It is not possible to stand still or be stuck, because Energy, and therefore life, is always in motion. Things are always changing. … If you want things to change to different things, you must think different thoughts.

Your challenge this week is to try out something different. Bring in some variety of thought, action, words, and/ or routine. What do you notice?

Spice of life,

Judy
